Why Stacey Solomon is our kind of woman

Now you see them, now you don't.

We're in the shrinking celebrity era, with everyone from Oprah to Robbie cracking on with variants of the GLP-1 medication

Let's leave the debate about whether this demographic actually needs this kind of intervention to another day. All I will say is that they are all rich enough to afford a private chef and a dedicated personal trainer.

Instead, what a total JOY it was to get an email from a journalist asking me to comment on Stacey Solomon's strength training journey this week.

Quick reminder, Stacey was originally on the X Factor in 2009 (I enjoyed this little highlights video here) and has since built a hugely successful broadcast career. She became a mother at 17 and now has four more children, plus a stepson from her husband’s previous relationship.

If you've ever seen her on telly, she has a warmth that's hard to fault. She's built a remarkable life without being sucked into the vacuum that is fame.

Her excitement about investing in a PT for the first time feels radical, whilst many others in her industry reach for Ozempic.

She's made her priorities really clear:

1) To build functional strength - "I want to forever be able to pick up my babies with ease & carry double buggies on my shoulder when necessary."

2) To have some time to herself - "Exercise is a form of self care."

Not only is she a fantastic role model to working mums across the UK, but she also did the fitness industry a massive favour by highlighting that her lean, strong body has come from a year of consistency and spending money on expertise.

No jabs or juices.

Enjoy your weekend,

NB xx
